Brian Cox has expressed concerns about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to create permanent replicas of actors’ images, stating that it is a form of “identity theft” and a human rights issue. The Scottish actor, famous for his role as Logan Roy in Succession, shared his thoughts at the premiere of the quiz show 007: Road To A Million, which was inspired by James Bond. Cox emphasized that AI poses a significant threat, especially to younger actors who may be taken advantage of by unscrupulous producers. He also mentioned that actors in America have been on strike for over 100 days, demanding better protection against unauthorized use of their images through AI technology. The issue of AI was also discussed at a recent summit at Bletchley Park, where politicians, tech leaders, and academics came together to explore the challenges and potential of AI. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed optimism about the event, stating that it would prioritize human interests.
