Who Is Coming to Trump’s Inauguration — and Who Isn’t

Among the attendees for President-elect Donald J. Trump’s inauguration are three of the richest men in the world, foreign dignitaries, tech and business executives, former presidents, and various performers and celebrities. The midday ceremony has been moved indoors due to extreme cold.

The relocation of Mr. Trump’s second swearing-in ceremony to the Capitol Rotunda may impact the seating arrangements as the indoor venue can only accommodate around 600 people.

While every living former president is expected to witness his return to power, some prominent Democrats are choosing not to attend.

Here is a list of those who plan to attend the inauguration and notable individuals who will be absent.

Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, among others, were reported to be among the major tech executives who would have had a position of honor on the dais before the event was moved indoors.

Seating for high-dollar donors from the business world was already competitive before the last-minute relocation indoors. Some donors offered donations as high as $1 million without gaining access to the inauguration or accompanying receptions.

China’s vice president, Han Zheng, will attend the inauguration on behalf of Xi Jinping, whom Mr. Trump had invited.

Several other world leaders who align with Mr. Trump’s ideology and policy preferences will also be in attendance.

From Latin America, Javier Milei, the right-wing populist president of Argentina, is reportedly planning to attend.

Representatives from key U.S. allies in the Asia-Pacific region—S. Jaishankar from India, Penny Wong from Australia, and Takeshi Iwaya from Japan—will also be attending.

Mr. Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton will attend Mr. Trump’s inauguration.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is also planning to attend.

Carrie Underwood will sing “America the Beautiful” at Mr. Trump’s inauguration.

Mr. Obama is scheduled to attend, but Michelle Obama will not.

Representative Nancy Pelosi, the former speaker of the House, will also skip the inauguration.

Several Democratic members of Congress have announced plans to skip the inauguration.
