Anti-Trump protests sweep America for the second time in weeks | US News

Protests against the Trump administration’s immigration policies and government agency firings took place nationwide on Saturday.

From small local marches to larger rallies in front of the White House and at a Massachusetts Revolutionary War commemoration, events drew a diverse crowd of participants.

Thomas Bassford, 80, attended a battle reenactment with his grandsons, partner, and daughter, expressing concern for liberty in America and the importance of fighting for freedom.

Demonstrators at these events carried banners with messages such as “Trump fascist regime must go now!”, “No fear, no hate, no ICE in our state,” and “Fight fiercely, Harvard, fight,” referencing the university’s resistance to government interference.

Some signs highlighted cases like Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s mistaken deportation, prompting discussions on immigration policies and enforcement.

Protests also targeted Tesla dealerships, criticizing Elon Musk’s involvement in federal downsizing as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

These demonstrations followed similar protests just two weeks prior, with organizers citing civil rights violations and constitutional infringements by the Trump administration.

Issues raised include deportations, government job cuts, agency closures, and policy changes affecting marginalized communities like transgender individuals.
