Hyderabad: Mark your calendars for September 1 to 4, 2026, as the 12th edition of the Telangana Golconda Masters swings into action at the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA). This highly anticipated event promises excitement with a remarkable field of 132 golfers competing for a staggering prize purse of INR 1 crore.
The tournament, part of the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI), will see top talents including Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Honey Baisoya, Veer Ahlawat, Rashid Khan, local daredevil Mohd Azhar, and defending champion Jamal Hossain from Bangladesh hitting the greens.
The announcement was jointly made by Jupally Krishna Rao, the Minister of Prohibition & Excise, Tourism & Culture and Archaeology of the Government of Telangana, and cricketing legend Kapil Dev, the President of DP World PGTI, during a press conference held at the HGA.
Strong Indian and International Field
This year’s tournament boasts a robust lineup of top Indian professionals. Alongside Talwar, Baisoya, Ahlawat, and Khan, Akshay Sharma and Om Prakash Chouhan are set to make their mark. The international contingent is equally impressive, featuring defending champion Jamal Hossain and fellow Bangladeshi Badal Hossain, while the Czech Republic’s Stepan Danek and Sri Lanka’s N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera will also add to the competitive spirit.
Players from Nepal, Uganda, and Japan, including golfers like Subash Tamang, Joshua Seale, Koichiro Ishika, and Taiga Tanaka, will showcase a diverse international flavor to the event, making it a true melting pot of golfing talent.

Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized the event’s significance, noting its growth since inception in 2015 and its role in promoting Telangana as a popular tourism destination. “We are delighted to see the tournament establish itself on the international golfing calendar, showcasing Telangana’s rich heritage and culture,” he stated.
