Registration for this exciting opportunity is open until April 9. The tryouts are slated for April 12, comprising four sessions designed to accommodate up to 200 participants throughout the day.

The program thrives on the collaborative efforts of local organizations. It has garnered support from Cebu City, the Cebu City Sports Commission, and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP). Together, these bodies are committed to elevating grassroots basketball in a region renowned for its fervent basketball following. Previous EASL youth initiatives in Cebu have seen remarkable engagement, with over 280 participants attending past camps.

The Selection Process

After the tryouts, only 40 players will be selected to form four teams. Participants chosen for the teams will not only receive exclusive gear from EASL Future Champions Elite and Under Armour but will also engage in a robust development program lasting eight weeks. This program includes twice-weekly training sessions complemented by weekend games, designed to refine their skills further.

International Competitions

This program is not just about local training. At the culmination of the eight-week development, the top 10 performers will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to compete in the All-Star Tournament in Hong Kong SAR from July 24–26. Here, they will face top-tier teams from Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, presenting an invaluable opportunity for exposure and experience. The arrangements covering flights and accommodation are fully taken care of, emphasizing the initiative’s commitment to fostering young talent.

Expert Coaching

The coaching team for Cebu’s EASL Future Champions Elite is led by Coach Joel Co, an esteemed former professional and national team player with extensive experience across various leagues, including the PBA and SEA Games. The program’s curriculum is designed by a team of international coaches, including Michael Olson, who has coaching credentials ranging from stints in Japan and Taiwan to a role with the San Antonio Spurs Summer League. This level of expertise ensures that participants receive top-notch training.
