The nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been unveiled, leading the pack is a singer with five nods. Her viral hit album, Brat, was a major success last year, earning her nominations in categories such as artist of the year, album of the year, and song of the year for her track Guess, featuring Billie Eilish.
Charli XCX, also known as Charlotte Aitchison, saw success with Brat, which sported “slime green” artwork and caught the attention of many prominent figures, including presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The album was deemed the Collins Dictionary’s word of the year for 2024.
Dua Lipa, the opener of the 2024 ceremony and headliner of Glastonbury, closely follows Charli XCX with four nominations. Other notable nominees include The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective.
The Beatles received their first nomination since 1977 for their song Now And Then, completed by Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr with audio restoration help. The Cure also made a comeback with three nominations after releasing their 14th album in 2024, Songs Of A Lost World.

This year marks a significant achievement for Myles Smith, winner of the rising star award, who is also nominated in other categories such as best new artist, song of the year, and best pop act.
The event will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall on Saturday 1 March at the O2 Arena in London.
