Beauty Regrets & Rebuys: What to Keep and What to Ditch

Regrets & Rebuys: Beauty Edition

If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you know how much I love sharing insights on my beauty journey—especially when it comes to those products that are worth every penny and those that simply didn’t make the cut. After two successful installments focusing on general regrets and rebuys, this November, I’m diving specifically into beauty products. Let’s explore what’s been reappearing on my shelf and what I’ll be steering clear of in the future.

Beauty Rebuys

Studio-Smooth Microdermabrasion Exfoliating Scrub Treatment

This is hands down my favorite face scrub. It manages to leave my skin incredibly smooth after each use. I typically incorporate it into my routine once a week, and the results have been nothing short of spectacular.

Extreme Cream Firming & Barrier Anti-Aging Moisturizer

You might be tired of hearing about this product, but trust me, it’s incredible! I’ve re-bought this moisturizer at least six or seven times. It hydrates my skin without making it feel oily and integrates seamlessly with my makeup. The price point is unbeatable for the quality!

Superfood Retino + Collagen Peptides Protein Balm

This balm has become a staple in my nightly routine. After integrating it into my regimen, I noticed a significant improvement in the evenness of my skin. It’s incredibly hydrating, and I appreciate its nourishing effects.

Brightening and Depuffing Eye Patches with Vitamin C

These under-eye patches have earned a permanent spot in my beauty arsenal. They actively help reduce fine lines, and what I love most is how they adhere perfectly—even when I’m busy cleaning or starting my morning.

Brightening Dark Spot and Anti-Aging Facial Serum with Saffron and Turmeric

Admittedly, I was skeptical at first. However, this serum has made a noticeable difference in reducing dark spots, leaving my skin feeling brighter and more youthful.

Le Chouchou Softening + Smoothing Peptide Lip Balm

I started with just one shade and now I’ve expanded my collection to four! The packaging is adorable, the formula is lush, and it smells divine. The pigment is just enough for a polished everyday look.

Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt

After using various products to achieve my go-to low bun, my hair often feels weighed down. This scrub revitalizes my scalp and clears build-up effectively. I use it about once every ten days.

Lash Up Peptide Thickening Mascara

Finding a replacement for a discontinued favorite mascara has been a quest, but I finally hit the jackpot with this one! It offers a thick, buildable formula that delivers on volume. Just a heads-up for those who prefer lighter formulas: this one might be too heavy for you.

Instafacial Plasma Bioactive Growth Factor Serum

This serum has become my daily must-have. It effectively minimizes redness while offering a non-greasy finish that’s hard to find in other products.

Beauty Regrets

The Rich Cream Face Moisturizer

This product was unfortunately not for me. Living in Florida, I find the humidity challenging enough—this moisturizer felt like a heavy oil on my skin, which wasn’t ideal.

Genesis Strengthening Scalp and Hair Serum

I have an absolute love for Kérastase, but this particular serum missed the mark. Despite using it consistently for three months, I saw very little change and had to part ways with it unfortunately.

Climax Volumizing Mascara

Initially, I loved how this mascara looked, but it fell flat over time. It smudged and flaked much too easily, which let me down during long days.

Long-Wear Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow Stick

With my oily eyelids, I should have known better. After just a few hours of wear, this eyeshadow creased and felt excessively oily for my preference.

Magic Night Cream Moisturizer with Retinol

As a fan of Charlotte Tilbury products, this one was particularly disappointing. It was far too thick for my skin and led to breakouts in my T-zone after just a few uses. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype.

This round-up of beauty rebuys and regrets paints a picture of my personal experiences with products that every beauty lover considers essential. Whether it’s the thrill of discovering why a product is worth rebuying or the heartbreak of realizing something just doesn’t work for you, each item teaches us a little more about our unique beauty journeys. Happy shopping and experimenting!
