After Trump’s Pardon, Paul Manafort Is Back and Looking for Foreign Work

Paul Manafort, who was pardoned by President Donald J. Trump four years ago for crimes related to foreign lobbying, is now seeking business from political interests abroad.

After assembling a team of consultants who worked on Mr. Trump’s 2024 campaign, Manafort is looking to advise campaigns for opposition and far-right political factions in Latin America and Europe, as per documents and interviews.

His potential clients include a French billionaire supporting anti-immigration politicians, an ultraconservative Peruvian mayor, and interests in Ukraine, despite his infamous past activities there.

The circumstances surrounding his return to international political consulting are murky and concerning, particularly in Ukraine where there are worries about Mr. Trump’s support for defense against Russian aggression and Manafort’s previous involvement.

A memo detailing Manafort’s team and its services recently generated interest in political circles in Kyiv.

Manafort stated that he has been contacted by various parties in Ukraine but has not submitted proposals or signed contracts with anyone there yet.

His associates named in the memo include individuals who previously worked on Mr. Trump’s campaigns and have experience overseas.
