A few snippets of digital ephemera and IRL recommendations I’ve enjoyed lately…
/ Is SHREEJI NEWS the boujiest corner shop in London? Back in pre-Covid times, Shreeji News was your average newsagent with a decent selection of magazines, but hardly a ‘destination’. Since its remarkable glow-up, thanks to the innovative designs by Gabriel Chipperfield and collaborations with high-profile establishments like Chiltern Firehouse and Air Mail, it has transformed into a phenomenon. People are starting to treat magazines as luxury collectibles—reviving that tactile joy of browsing through well-curated content. The Nod dives deeper into this cultural shift, with insights from yours truly.

/ Congratulations to STUDIO NICHOLSON on ‘going global’ with its first runway show in Paris. “You’ve got to know when to put the pencil down!” remarks Nick Wakeman, shedding light on her design philosophy. For those keen to see the collection and hear Nick’s thoughts, an engaging interview and show streaming are available for your viewing pleasure.
/ CHANEL opens a heritage art house cinema. In a compelling initiative, Chanel sponsors the restoration of Paris’s Cinéma Saint Germain des Prés, reviving a cultural icon with original Art Deco decor and artwork from luminaries like Picasso and Cocteau. Interestingly, France recorded 77 million cinema ticket sales in the first half of 2026, marking a 20% rise compared to last year. This trend indicates that fashion brands increasingly wish to engage with cinema—a realm that transcends mere commerce. My recent favorite in this vein? The breathtakingly costumed YSL-backed film Father Mother Sister Brother, which left a lasting impression!
/ We’re all better without META eyewear. There’s a discernible anxiety regarding tastemakers aligning themselves with META, particularly concerning a future of surveillance eyewear. While the hustle to earn a living is understandable, it’s disheartening to witness such partnerships from influential figures who presumably don’t need the cash. It reflects a broader truth: everyone has a price, and it’s worth pondering the implications of such alliances.
/ Re-upping my summer beauty survival kit. I’ve stumbled upon wonder products that have enhanced my summer experience! The Summer Friday lip butter minis are delightful indulgences, while Peep Club’s dry eye spray feels like magic on particularly hot days. And let’s not forget about the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist, with its soothing orange blossom and rose scent—perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up. Don’t miss the introductory travel size available too!
/ What I watched. Each episode of Russell T Davies’ Tip Toe is a gripping journey, balancing humor with the gravity of modern-day dilemmas—think Brexit, pronouns, and OnlyFans, packed into a powerful exploration of contemporary male relationships. Another remarkable watch was Jon Snow: A Last Big Story, which started as a poignant documentary about the broadcaster’s Alzheimer’s journey but evolved into a stellar showcase of journalistic integrity.
/ Exciting news: L’ETIQUETTE women’s magazine is launching its English language edition in September! A big shoutout to Fashion People for this incredible intel! Enthusiasts should check out the insightful interview with Marc Beaugé that makes for a compelling listen.

/ This article on what facelift recovery is really like is classic ALLURE. It’s both fascinating and gruesome, bringing to light the complex reality behind cosmetic procedures. It’s definitely a must-read for those curious about what the process entails—check it out here!
/ CHRISTO: AIR makes its debut exhibit. While the title might tip one off to the air conditioning inside the Gagosian’s Grosvenor Hill gallery, it’s actually about the magnificent ‘Air Package on a Ceiling’. This installation delves into the concept of ‘wrapped air’, presenting a stunning 16 x 10 meter transparent sculpture that enchants visitors by hovering just above them. Accompanying pieces include a wrapped Volvo unseen for 30 years, alongside fantastic vitrines showcasing drawings, studies, letters, and prep photos from Christo and his wife, Jeanne-Claude.
